Digital laser distance sensor HG-C: Cost-efficient, fast and non-contact distance measurement

The compact and light-weight laser distance sensor HG-C captures measurement data contact-free via the triangulation principle.  It scores particularly well in quality control, process monitoring of packaging and assembly systems and in electronics production. In industrial automation, the HG-C laser sensor is used, among other things, for the positioning of robot arms, the thickness measurement of strip material or the presence check of various products.

With five models, the miniature sensor covers measuring ranges from 10 to 400 mm and, with a resolution of up to 10 µm and a response time of less than 1.5 ms, ensures fast and precise distance determination.

Thanks to an integrated controller, the sensor automatically adapts its performance to different surfaces and thus guarantees reliable measurement results. The display offers a user-friendly parameterization of the sensor. Only three buttons are needed to teach-in a new measuring range or to set the three possible operating modes.  In addition to an analog output with 0...5 V or 4...20 mA, a switching output NPN or PNP is also available.

With a size of only 20 mm x 44 mm x 25 mm (W x H x D) the HG-C laser sensor requires only little space and is therefore suitable for use in confined spaces. The aluminum housing achieves protection class IP67.
