eddylab handles complex development and engineering projects as a full-service provider by managing all process steps in-house.![]()
This structure creates optimal conditions for iterative and application-oriented development work and enables a close connection between technical and organizational processes. It is based on the integration of all key value-added stages throughout the product development process—from development and manufacturing to testing and qualification processes.
“Our strength is in the vertical integration of development and manufacturing. This enables us to validate design decisions very quickly, to reduce iteration cycles, and to be flexible enough to efficiently transform even complex, customer-specific requirements into robust sensor solutions,” explains eddylab Head of Development Remo Kagerer.
The development work focuses on sensor technology for so-called “harsh environments,” i.e., applications under extreme environmental conditions. These include radiation-resistant systems, solutions for high- and low-temperature ranges—such as in cryogenics—high-pressure applications up to 2000 bar, and sensors for environments with increased electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements.
Typically, projects at eddylab begin with a specific customer inquiry that goes beyond standard solutions. Building on this, a detailed analysis of the technical requirements is conducted, followed by the elaboration of a customized development concept. The projects then go through several development phases—from design and simulation through prototyping to extensive testing and, if necessary, qualification steps. Close collaboration with the customer ensures that the solutions are optimally tailored to the specific application, with the scope of the measures consistently aligned with actual needs.
Unlike larger companies, which often focus only on high volumes, eddylab specifically targets smaller, highly specialized projects. In doing so, it goes beyond the role of a traditional development service provider or engineering firm by not only designing the solutions but also getting them ready for series production and manufacturing the products in its own facilities.
This offers clear advantages for customers: short communication channels, a single point of contact, high flexibility for technical adjustments, short development times, and collaboration with renowned laboratories.
In addition, eddylab also benefits from strong internal synergy effects. Continuous feedback loops between the individual departments encourage the development of specialized expertise and enable insights from various industries and applications to be specifically applied to new development projects. This knowledge base is the foundation for sustainable innovation.
