The design of each component is tailored for robustness and durability. Inside the containment, all products are consistently designed to be inorganic and hermetically sealed. The nuclear product range of eddylab withstands all environmental challenges regarding thermal and seismic stress as well as radiation exposure. For power plant applications, eddylab offers a complete solution: from sensors and cabling to electronics housed in a dedicated control cabinet.

  • High-precision inductive SXL sensors for position measurement with patented, hermetically sealed high-temperature connectors
  • Hermetically sealed, high-temperature-resistant, inorganic and flexible connection cables
  • Sealed, inorganic terminal boxes for connecting two cables, such as sensor connection cables with customer cables
  • Hermetically sealed wall/container bushings
 
  • DEEneo-3u signal conditioner for sensor supply and signal processing, which can be flexibly installed up to 200 m away from the sensor – e.g., outside the containment in the control room.
  • Heavy-duty 19" rack with redundant power supply as AC or DC variant for accommodating up to 8 signal conditioners.
  • Wall-mounted enclosure (control cabinet), EMC-protected, for accommodating the 19" rack.

Product qualifications for use in nuclear environments

In addition to development, eddylab also offers product qualifications in accordance with the RCC-E or IEEE standard, thereby ensuring that the measurement systems function reliably even under extreme operating conditions. The aim of the qualification is to prove suitability for the specific safety-related application. The qualification includes extensive testing under realistic operating and accident scenarios, including temperature, radiation, vibration, humidity, EMC, seismic, and LOCA tests. This ensures the long-term usability and safety of the products. To ensure full qualification, eddylab collaborates with a wide range of renowned testing laboratories to carry out all necessary tests.
